Responsibilities
Oversee a team of RF (Radio Frequency) engineers and work independently to perform RF network planning and optimization activities during network rollout phase. Responsible for radio optimization of 5G/LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks to troubleshoot and improve KPIs in Nokia & Ericsson system. Provide 5G optimization covering Sub6 optimization, DSS optimization, mmWave (millimeter wave) Optimization, VONR (Voice over New Radio). Perform RF performance activities covering 4G/5G data & voice VOLTE (voice over LTE) service in customer projects independently, according to project plan and in project managers guidance. Perform analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), investigation and improvement of network capacity & quality problems. Implement new features and tuning 5G/4G (LTE) radio network parameters. Implement new RAN (Radio Access Network) features and tuning of RAN database parameters. Analyze neighbor relations and implementation of corrections. Perform radio propagation planning, optimization of coverage footprint, signal quality, candidate selection review for new sites, creation of site plumbing design diagram, filing of E911/FCC Regulatory approvals and managing of design related projects. Perform radio planning and optimization team lead for small team of engineers. Interface with customers to provide network design and performance related services according to the solutions portfolio. No hire/fire authority.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline, plus at least six years of related experience is required, or in the alternative, Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline, plus at least eight years of related experience is required. Must have experience with antennas for various bands, including mmWave, CBand, PCS, AWS, and low band of cellular communication operations and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design & optimization. Must have experience with large venue stadium, Indoor Arena DAS design-implementation-optimization, Beamforming, MassiveMIMO, Baseband, Radios, NR & LTE air interface architecture, and 5G protocol and radio interference algorithms. Must have experience with load balancing across carriers, Carrier Aggregation techniques across carriers, 4G & 5G voice Network (including VOLTE and VONR), operational algorithm design and optimization, air interface capacity and coverage evaluation and improvement techniques. Must have experience with 5G Core and transport network architecture, 5G NSA (non-standalone), SA (stand-alone) principles algorithms for multiple vendor equipment, and 5G oRAN architecture and operation algorithms. Must have experience with platforms of Network tools for major radio vendors including ENM, OSS, Atoll , NetAct, Excel, and Scripting.
